Dev Summary for July 8, 2008
Exciting times today! Originally I had planned to finish up the standard blog features but that sounded pretty boring to me so I decided to get into the meat of the site.
- I needed to modify the way I was getting the data so that it would only try to retrieve updated stats a day after a game. There's no sense in pulling data and compiling the Leaderboards on days the Brewers don't even play. Plus the rank movement would start to get messed up.
- I've started compiling the Home Runs Leaderboard. I just wanted to compile the stats on the backend, but I was on such a role I...
- finished the front-end! So check out the Home Runs Leaderboard! The Leaderboard is generated in the morning and shows movement of the Top 100 Home Run hitting Brewers. You'll also see their current Home Runs and the At Bats per Home Run.
Now that I've got the Home Runs done, most of what is left will be to set up the tables and modify the code just a little bit for each stat.
